To recharge their batteries after an intense semester, some EAGLE students went skiing together in the Austrian Alps, taking the opportunity to experience cold-region environments themselves. Beyond the thrill of the slopes, the trip allowed students to observe snow cover and terrain dynamics with delicious Austrian food in real life, connecting theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience and fun in their “Cryosphere Retreat”

It is amazing to see how friendships within the EAGLE MSc program grow when students share challenges, adventures, and moments of breathtaking experience in such stunning surroundings. Conversations about alpine environments naturally continued outside the classroom, blending learning with adventure.

The trip showed that education in EAGLE extends beyond lectures. Students returned not only with a deeper understanding of cold-region systems, but also with stronger friendships that will enrich both their academic and professional journeys.
