🎄 A Gentle Touch of Christmas in the Foyer

As the year draws to a close and deadlines, reports, and project milestones converge, December often feels like a sprint. Yet this year, something is different the moment you step through the doors of our building.

✨ A Christmas Tree that Tells a Story

Standing proudly in the foyer is our newly decorated Christmas tree—but with a twist. Instead of classic ornaments alone, its branches showcase the logos of our ongoing projects and the funders supporting them. Each ornament represents a piece of our collective work: research ideas taking shape, collaborations growing, and innovations that have defined our year.

It’s not just festive décor; it’s a visual map of what drives us every day.

Alongside the tree, soft Christmas melodies now flow through the foyer. They transform our normally bustling entrance into a space that feels warmer, calmer, and just a bit magical. The combination of lights, music, and symbolic ornaments has created an atmosphere that invites a small pause—even if only for a few seconds—before heading back into the usual end-of-year rush.

This simple change has brought a subtle but welcome shift. In a period that can easily become overwhelming, the foyer now offers a gentle reminder of the season’s spirit: reflection, gratitude, and connection. Whether you’re arriving for a meeting, grabbing a coffee, or stepping out for a breath of fresh air, the space now gives a moment of reprieve.

Beyond festive charm, the decorated tree also highlights the essential work happening across the building. It’s a reminder of the shared purpose behind our work, our research, our teaching, … —and of the support that makes them possible.

In the midst of spreadsheets, experiments, drafts, and deadlines, it’s good to be reminded that we’re all creating something meaningful together.
