Presentation at the Biomet conference

Last week, our team participated in the Biomet conference organized by the German Meteorological Service (DWD) and the German Meteorological Society (DMG). Held in Offenbach am Main, this conference brought together experts from various fields of biometeorology. Under the theme “Living Spaces in Transition, discussions evolved around innovative models and methodologies aimed at comprehending the impacts of climate change on urban areas, forests, agriculture, and human health.

During the conference, Andrea Sofia Garciade León from the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) delivered a presentation on the application of remote sensing techniques in analysing variations in land surface temperature across different land use and tree cover conditions of urban areas. This study, conducted in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Earth Observation Center of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Company for aerial image analysis and environmental issues (SLU), and UrbanSens, was part of the DBU-funded project: Ecosystem services of the urban forest: modelling using remote sensing & artificial intelligence.

The picture shows Andrea Sofia with part of the team from the Chair of Strategy and Management in Landscape Development and the Chair of Forest Growth Science from TUM, who also delivered presentations.
