Today, Sebastian Buchelt gave a presentation about “Detecting small-scale patterns of rock glacier surface kinematics in the Central Alps using Differential SAR Interferometry”. He provided insights into his latest results about spatial patterns of rock glacier kinematics. These results were presented in the online seminar series of the IPA Action Group “Rock glacier Inventory and Kinematics” (RGIK). He showed that seasonal acceleration in the snow free summer months and the proportion of subsidence on the overall movement varies strongly within rock glacier units and can help to get a better understanding on current dynamics as well as internal structure of these landforms. More details on his research can be found in the following publication:

ANOTHER REPLY TO THE PROGRAMMING HERO SYNDROME
In the Programming Hero post, a lot of us (EAGLE students) recognized ourselves, at least in the situations around it. Since the other perspective usually goes unseen and underestimated, it's time the Silent Hero got a word in too, and explained why this isn't about...
In the News: Monid Habitrack Featured in Süddeutsche Zeitung
Süddeutsche Zeitung recently covered our Monid Habitrack project, and we're happy to share it. The article follows the research team at work in the Oberpfalz, where our drones map vegetation and surface temperature while ticks are collected on the ground and tested...

A reply to the Programming Hero Syndrome post
A while back there was a post about the "Programming Hero Syndrome." This is a small extension to it, from a female perspective to provide a different view. When I started EAGLE, in those first weeks and months, I'd join internship talks or MSc defenses, listen to...
