We are very proud to congratulate our guest lecturer Dr. Monika Gähler being awarded as senior scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

At DLR only few scientist are promoted to senior scientist –  leading international and national projects, having an excellent funding record, engaging in the domains of remote sensing for humanitarian relief, heading the Center for satellite-based crisis information (ZKI) at the department ‘Georisks and Civil Security’ as well as representing DLR in politics and the public made Dr. Monika Gähler eligible for this prestigious award. Our Professor Hannes Taubenböck had the honor of giving the laudatory speech for the prizewinner at the Science Barbeque of DLR in Braunschweig on the 20th of June 2024.

The DLR Science BBQ, this time at the third largest DLR site in Braunschweig, provided an excellent opportunity to honor the scientific successes and to come together with employees as well as partners from politics, research and industry.
