Within our EAGLE MSc program our students are learning quite a variety of programming environments and software programs, however due to the high diversity of available (open-source) programs our students have to apply their spatial research skills to learn a totally new program and do a 2h presentation with hands-on tasks of a specific program. Today our EAGLEs Leonie, Sonja, Elena and Anugraha introduced SAGA GIS and showed hydrological flow modelling, land cover classification and other topics within the two hours.
Very interesting and valuable for our young scientists to see the wealth of spatial scientific software available and getting to know for what kind of tasks these programs might be needed and gain experiences in using different environments.
