From the abstract: The internship focused on two key objectives: advancing disaster management workflows and contributing to refugee data analysis. The primary task involved developing a comprehensive global catalogue of early warning sources in machine-readable formats, with a focus on utilizing standardized protocols to support the automation of disaster response processes. This work aimed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of alert dissemination and data integration. Additionally, the internship involved cross-checking a sample of labelled news articles focusing on West African refugees and comparing them with the original labels to evaluate classification accuracy and data consistency. Overall, the internship provided valuable experience in research processes, helping to understand how research facilities operate and how data-driven projects are managed in a structured and team-oriented environment.
