Congratulations to Dr. Christian Geiß to a professorship at the University of Bonn in collaboration with the DLR

The Earth Observation Research Hub is very happy to congratulate our lecturer and habilitation candidate Dr. Christian Geiß to being the new professor for georisk research using remote sensing methods at the Geographical Institute of the University of Bonn and the DLR.

 

 

Christian is a lecturer at our Institute of Geography and Geology at University of Würzburg and affiliated with the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He is interested in developing methods in the field of Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence and applying such techniques for natural hazard risk assessment. He is currently pursuing a habilitation project at the JMU Würzburg with the focus on “Collective Sensing Techniques and Artificial Intelligence for Natural Hazard Risk and Impact Assessment” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stefan Dech, Prof. Dr. Heiko Paeth, and Prof. Dr. Hannes Taubenböck.

 

Since April 1st 2023, Christian is a professor at the University of Bonn working in the field of “georisk research using remote sensing methods“. Congratulations and we wish you a great start in Bonn!
