Five Years of Data Cube Innovations in AgriSens DEMMIN 4.0

Five Years of Data Cube Innovations in AgriSens DEMMIN 4.0

February 28, 2025

Over the past five years, we made significant advancements with our Data Cube development within the AgriSens DEMMIN 4.0 project. We enhanced the system architecture and the offerings of the Data Cube to optimize the use of remote sensing data for agricultural applications. We integrated more data from various sources, processed interesting products like vitality deficit layers, and developed user-friendly interfaces that allow farmers to access this information for decision-making. We presented the Data Cube (and its integration within this project) at various scientific conferences, including GIL and FOSS4G, to discuss its potential and applications. But outreach was not limited to the scientific community, as we also showcased our developments at industry events like Agritechnica and Grüne Woche, as well as our project’s “field days” for farmers in our study area in the Northeast of Germany.

Overall, the AgriSens Data Cube aids in providing information about agricultural lands, supporting farmers in sustainable field management and thus contributing to increasing agricultural productivity while preserving the environment and biodiversity.

On Tuesday, we presented the final results of the project alongside all consortium members at the University of Applied Sciences in Neubrandenburg, and collaborated one last time with our colleagues (see picture).
