Presentation at Environmental Health Research workshop

March 19, 2025

Our EAGLE lecturer, Dr. Michael Wurm, participated and presented at the international workshop on “Advancing Data Driven Environmental Health Research” that took place from Tuesday 18th March until Wednesday 19th March, organised by the Health Data Research UK (HDR) in collaboration with Helmholtz Munich.

The two day workshop in advancing Environmental Health Research through Data Linkage, Infrastructure and Collaboration had the goal to bring together experts to collaborate on environmental health research including topics related to connecting health and environmental data, develop methodologies for harmonised data analysis, and highlight progress from joint projects.

The workshop also featured interactive discussions, and a focus on advancing the integration of linked datasets to understand environmental determinants of health and also keynote presentations. One of the keynotes was on “Earth observation & Health” which was presented by our EAGLE lecturer Michael Wurm. He emphasized on the derivation of various environmental parameters from remote sensing data for health research, including traffic density, air pollution, urban heat islands, and urban green.
