July 3, 2025

Yesterday, members of our Earth Observation Research Cluster had the opportunity to connect with colleagues from DLR during the annual summer gathering of the DLR Earth Observation Center (EOC).
The informal setting of the DLR EOC summer party provided a great platform to exchange ideas and discuss future collaborations. During the meeting, our team engaged in constructive conversations with DLR GZS lecturers about potential joint teaching activities, shared research interests, and opportunities for collaborative projects.
We explored possibilities to further integrate Earth observation topics into academic curricula, aiming to strengthen the connection between research, operational expertise, and education. In addition, we exchanged thoughts on how to foster student involvement in ongoing research initiatives, with the shared goal of providing practical insights into the dynamic field of Earth observation.
The conversations also touched on future joint projects that could bring together complementary expertise from both sides, emphasizing applied research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
We thank our DLR partners for the open discussions and look forward to deepening this collaboration in the months to come.
