EORC and DLR participated at the ILUS 2025 Conference in Dresden

The International Land Use Symposium 2025 (https://ilus2025.ioer.info/) took place in Dresden, Germany from the 6th to the 7th of November. Our colleagues from our Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) and the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) contributed three presentations and chaired one session:

 

Ariane Droin presented results of her research about the variation in x-minuteness for different urban structural types in the city of Berlin. Her talk was titled: “An accessibility analysis of different urban structure types in the city of Berlin, based on the x-minute City concept.”

Henri Debray presented his research about the global configuration and distribution of intra-urban pattern types. His presentation was titled: “Intra-urban Patterns across the Globe: The ‘what’ and the ‘where’ of urban structures and planning practices in their geographical contexts.”

Moritz Hertrich presented his project work about the detection of buildings usings deep learning methods. The title of his talk was: “Semantic enrichment of AI-detected buildings using remote sensing and multi-source geospatial data.”

Ariane Droin additionally chaired the session “Urban Structure and Policy: Accessibility”.
