As 2025 draws to a close, we at the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) would like to take a moment to reflect on an inspiring and productive year—and to say thank you to everyone who made it possible – from EORC staff, EAGLE student to our collaborators.

This year has been marked by exciting scientific momentum and fresh beginnings. New research initiatives, most notably the EO4CAM project, have opened up promising pathways for innovation, while ongoing projects continued to deliver valuable insights and impact. Alongside this, we saw the emergence of new collaborations, creative project ideas and submissions, and truly engaging fieldwork across Africa, Europe and the Arctic that strengthened both our research and our community.

A special highlight of 2025 has been our PhD and EAGLE M.Sc. students. Their curiosity, dedication, and enthusiasm have been a constant source of inspiration. We are incredibly proud of the outstanding theses  this year—showcasing not only scientific excellence, but also creativity, rigor, and real-world relevance. The high level of engagement across courses, projects, and events reflects the vibrant academic culture within EORC.

We are also deeply grateful to our collaborators, partners, and colleagues, whose trust, expertise, and openness to cooperation continue to enrich our work and extend its reach. These partnerships are at the heart of meaningful Earth observation research.

Last but certainly not least, our heartfelt thanks go to our admin team: Tine, Sabine, and Viki, and to our beloved Susi, whose warmth and impact remain with us. Their dedication, organization, and continuous support form the backbone of EORC. Quite simply, they are the core that keeps everything running smoothly—and we could not do this without them.

Thank you all for your commitment, energy, and shared passion for Earth observation. We look forward to building on this strong foundation and stepping into the coming year with new ideas, new challenges, and continued collaboration.

Here’s to an exciting road ahead! 🌱
