The Geolingual Studies team has published a book entitled “Geolingual Studies on Urban Space”. We have reported on it, please see here: New book “Geolingual Studies on Urban Space” published – Earth Observation News. The accompanying “book launch event” at the University of Würzburg took place yesterday.
The event began with opening remarks from series editor Sarah Buschfeld, before Lisa Lehnen, Ninja Schulz and Hannes Taubenböck spoke about the development of Geolingual Studies, the book’s origins and the book’s content. This involved the synergistic application of the interdisciplinary approach combining linguistics, geography/remote sensing, digital humanities and natural language processing, accompanied by the project’s milestones from the Geolingual Studies workshop, to the book proposal acceptance, to Carolin Biewer’s trip around the world to meet to build up the scientific network and anecdotes that have emerged over the years of work on Geolingual Studies.
At the champagne reception that followed, discussions ranged from the book to everything under the sun.
