The CSU Working Group for Environment and Consumer Protection recently visited the Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus (UFS) on the Zugspitze. The visit provided an opportunity to present current research activities connected to this unique high-alpine research environment.
As part of the program, our staff member Dr. Julian Fäth presented current research topics of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg at the UFS. The presentation included ongoing Earth Observation activities of the EORC as well as further JMU contributions from Biology and Astronomy.
The different topics illustrated the broad scientific engagement of JMU at the Schneefernerhaus. While the EORC contributes expertise in Earth Observation and environmental monitoring, the additional perspectives from Biology and Astronomy underline the interdisciplinary character of JMU research at the UFS..
With this thematic spectrum, JMU contributes to the wider research environment at the UFS and to the exchange between different scientific fields. The visit of the CSU Working Group for Environment and Consumer Protection therefore provided an excellent opportunity to exchange perspectives with political representatives and with other members of the UFS Science Team.
