Exploring Innovative Science Communication: A Visit to Würzburg City Hall

Exploring Innovative Science Communication: A Visit to Würzburg City Hall

December 19, 2025

As part of our seminar “Perspectives on Innovative Science Communication”, in which we are developing an exhibition on young scientists and future-oriented topics in Würzburg and its partner city Mwanza in Tanzania, we recently visited Würzburg City Hall. City representatives, including Alexander Kückes and others, provided valuable insights into the background of the city partnership.
Students also had the opportunity to learn more about the work of the association Mwanza e.V., gaining detailed perspectives on their projects and initiatives. Finally, we explored the spaces where our exhibition will be showcased—a truly inspiring moment for everyone involved.

The course brings together students from Museum Studies and Geography, combining their expertise to create a compelling exhibition. In addition, we are collaborating with a group of students from Mwanza to highlight both sides of this unique city partnership. We are especially delighted to welcome many guest students from South Africa and Ghana through the ERASMUS+ KA171 program, who, like our own students, are gaining their first hands-on experience in science communication.
