Hannes Taubenböck wins the Science Slam in Rosenheim

March 29, 2026

Hannes Taubenböck was invited to represent our Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) and the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at the Science Slam in Rosenheim on the 28th of March 2026 – https://www.stadttipps-rosenheim.de/veranstaltungskalender/auffuehrung/science-slam-stadtbibliothek.html. The event took place in front of a sold-out, energetic audience in the event rooms of the Rosenheim City Library.

With a new science slam entitled “Saßen Sie schon mal in einem Zug nach Mumbai? – Forschung im Grenzbereich zwischen Armut, Reichtum und Moral” [engl.: “Have you ever been on a train to Mumbai? – Research on the borderline between poverty, wealth and morality“], our Professor Hannes Taubenböck was able to win the competition in Rosenheim again. He was thus able to successfully defend his title from last year (https://remote-sensing.org/science-slam-in-rosenheim-hannes-taubenbock-wins-again/ ).

It was a very humorous evening in which science was presented in an entertaining way and in many facets. In the scientific short lecture tournament, everything is allowed to elicit the loudest applause from the audience. The event has once again made it possible to bring science into society.
