Meeting of the Georisks and Civil Security (GZS) department and the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC)

December 15, 2025

On December 12, 2025, researchers from the “Georisks and Civil Security (GZS)” department of the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and researchers from the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) of the University of Würzburg conducting research in the urban field convened for a collaborative meeting at DLR-DFD in Oberpfaffenhofen.

The agenda included introductions to the teams, their respective areas of expertise and a review of accomplishments in 2025. The meeting fostered collaboration through the exchange of ideas and the development of joint research initiatives in the research domains of natural hazards, georisks, civil security and urbanization.

In the evening, EORC participants joined the GZS team for their annual Christmas party, providing an opportunity to unwind and engage in informal discussions, concluding a productive and inspiring day – see here: https://remote-sensing.org/building-bridges-eorc-team-at-the-dlr-eoc-gzs-christmas-celebration/
