Arthur Platel has a bachelor’s degree in earth science from the University of California Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in data science from Eastern University. Most recently he was employed at Planet Labs in California as a remote sensing scientist researching change detection algorithms, the fusion of optical and SAR data for enhanced change detection capabilities, and the validation and improvement of agricultural datasets. In addition to Planet Labs, Arthur has worked on various remote sensing projects with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Park Service (NPS), and NASA Develop. In January 2024, Arthur began his research at the University of Würzburg. His research focuses on data fusion from various earth observation sources for ecological monitoring.
