Martina joined our Earth Observation Research Hub in March as part of the SuperVision Space project, which focuses on automated satellite-based systems for monitoring pipelines. In the framework of this project, she works on the identification and classification of changes, such as construction sites, that could negatively impact pipelines. Prior to joining as a new staff member, Martina completed her PhD on landslide analysis in Mexico. During her PhD, she stayed in Mexico for a year to conduct her fieldwork. Her doctoral research included the application of UAVs for mapping and photogrammetric analysis, field and laboratory work, and slope stability modelling.
