Our EORC staff members, Dr. Insa Otte and Lilly Schell recently visited our EOCap4Africa project partner the Okavango Research Institute (ORI) in Botswana. It was an enriching experience that reinforced the importance of collaboration in conservation, research, and capacity building.

The meeting served as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and assessing the advancements made in our project. Our ORI colleagues provided valuable insight in the working environment, teaching facilities as well as updates on environmental changes within the delta and the latest conservation efforts being undertaken.

Following our discussions, we refined main contents or our module and embarked on fieldwork to gather in-situ data. Exploring the Okavango Delta alongside our ORI partners allowed us to observe firsthand the dynamic ecosystem and its unique biodiversity.

Stay tuned for more updates as our research progresses, and we continue to explore the remarkable landscapes of Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
