Surveying trainees at the Earth Observation Centre (EOC) of the DLR

On 12.06.2026, surveying trainees from the state administration were guests at the Earth Observation Centre (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Remote sensing applications in the thematic domains of the ‘Georisks and Civil Security’ department (https://www.dlr.de/en/eoc/about-us/german-remote-sensing-data-center/geo-risks-and-civil-security)  were presented to the guests from the fields of geodesy and geoinformatics.

Prof Dr Hannes Taubenböck gave an overview of DLR and the EOC (https://www.dlr.de/en/eoc) in particular. He presented works in the fields of urban geography, migration, natural hazards and civil security. Lukas Angermann presented our EO4Cam project (https://www.dlr.de/de/site/eo4cam) and showed applications in the domains of urban areas, forestry and agriculture. He also went into the activities of the Centre for Satellite Based Crisis Information (ZKI) (https://www.dlr.de/en/eoc/about-us/german-remote-sensing-data-center/geo-risks-and-civil-security/center-for-satellite-based-crisis-information-zki).
