Dr. Ji Zhao is joining the Earth Observation Research Cluster as a visiting scientist for one year.

 

After obtaining his PhD in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Wuhan University, China, he worked as an associate professor at China University of Geosciences. This is not the first time that Dr. Zhao has conducted collaborative research in Germany. From November 2019 to October 2020, he worked as a postdoc in the “Cities and Society” team at DLR, funded by a DAAD scholarship.

 

Dr. Ji Zhao’s research interests lie in machine learning algorithms and their applications in urban remote sensing. Several joint publications have also resulted from the many years of co-operation:
