A new article by Hannes Taubenboeck and colleagues was just published “Seven city types representing morphologic configurations of cities across the globe”. They performed an empirical analysis of morphological-spatial configurations of urban landscapes across the globe. Applied a Local Climate Zones scheme to quantitatively describe morphologic variances within cities in order to detect seven city types that capture the global diversity of spatial urban configurations.
