The Stadtfest Würzburg took over the city this weekend, and it wasn’t just the university out there. Many organisations, local initiatives, like DLRG and all other kinds of groups had booths, and we joined in with our own little corner on Earth observation.
People kept stopping by all day, asking questions about what satellites can actually see and why it matters for them. We handed out flyers and postcards until we were nearly out.
It was a long day, but it’s exactly the kind of thing worth doing. Getting out from behind our screens and talking to people who’d never normally hear about our work, that’s how research earns its keep.
Thanks to everyone who came by and asked questions. And for Sarah doe organising t and who spend several hours on her weekend in the city.
