Within our joint “Megacities Project” and the research field of geolingual studies or collaborator Prof. Biewer presents “Geolingual Studies” to various research groups in Japan and Australia Shizuoka, Japan – 25.04.2023.
Prof. Biewer went to Shizuoka, Japan for a day on 25 April and met with Prof. Dr. Kishie Shigekawa and Prof. Dr. Satoshi Tanaka from the Graduate School of Disaster Research, Tokoha University, who kindly shared their experience on interviewing disaster victims and managers in Japan and the US. Australian Catholic University – 05.05.2023.
Prof. Biewer gave an open talk on Geolingual Studies at the Mercy Lecture Hall at the Australian Catholic University in Fitzroy, Melbourne on 5 May. She introduced the Geolingual Studies idea, first research works and future plans.

On 9 May Prof. Biewer talked about the results of the Ukraine study of the Geolingual Studies team at the Centre of Urban Research of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. A lively discussion about Geolingual Studies, social media data, the documentation of wartime stories and humour as a form of resilience evolved.
