Kick-off of the Project EO4CAM – Earth Observation for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation in Bavaria

July 8, 2024

On July 2, 2024, around 30 scientists from the Earth Observation Center at the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg met at the EOC to take part in the kick-off event for the EO4CAM project. EO4CAM stands for Earth Observation Innovation Laboratory for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation. Using remote sensing-based information, analyses, and scenarios, EO4CAM will support Bavarian authorities and decision-makers in assessing and defining measures for adapting to climate change. EO4CAM’s research work focuses on urban areas, agriculture, forestry, and the cross-cutting topics of biodiversity, georisks, and health. Data will be accessed via a data portal and standardized interfaces. The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi) funds the expert group at DFD and EORC.
