Last week, Sebastian Buchelt presented recent advances of the EFRE project MainPro at the AK Fernerkundung in Braunschweig, particularly about the WebApp, which is freely available online.
His poster „Data Visualization for climate adaptation within MainPro“ asked the question, whether such maps and data platforms are enough to disseminate available information to stakeholders. Particularly the rise of Large Language Models such as ChatGPT and Gemini could enable completely new ways for non-experts of geospatial data to interact with information beyond classical maps and data platforms. That could increase the outreach of geospatial data beyond the current users, particularly at the level of local communities and bring climate adaptation into action.
