DLR and EORC contribute to the Science Show in Unterföhring

November 15, 2025

The Science Show in Unterföhring (https://www.vhs-nord.de/programm/veranstaltungen/kurs/Die-grosse-Science-Show-im-November/C1301) offers science by entertainment. Markus Berg, poetry and science slammer, humorously led through the varied evening.

Our Professor Hannes Taubenböck from the German Aerospace Center and our Earth Observation Research Cluster of the University of Würzburg was invited to contribute to the show. Hannes inspired the audience with a humorous yet critical view from space on our unique and beautiful blue planet. He showed the sensible and less sensible things that mankind does, where you often don’t know which is better – laughing or shaking your head. Together with other guests – science slam newcomer and physicist Christoph Vogl, science jack-of-all-trades Sebastian Schlagenhaufer, science veteran Falko Blumenthal as well as with songwriter Lisa Fitzek, who accompanied the evening with music – it was a very funny and informative and evening.
