As winter settled in and the year reached its final stretch, the community of our building, the John-Skilton-Str. 4 came together for a warm and joyful Christmas celebration. Our building—home to an impressive diversity of university units—proved once again how wonderfully different perspectives can come together in a single shared moment.

From informatics to human resources development (Personalentwicklung), from earth observation to the Healthy Campus initiative (Gesunde Hochschule), and from biology and ethics to conflict counseling (Konfliktberatung), colleagues from all corners of academia and university life gathered under the soft lights of our festively decorated foyer.

A special and heartfelt thank-you goes to Katja Beck-Doßler and Ljubica Lozo, as well as to their dedicated teams of Human Resources Development, Healthy Campus, and Conflict Management. Their thoughtful organization gave the event its welcoming atmosphere—and their homemade waffles, warm Glühwein, and many other treats added a delicious touch that everyone appreciated.

It was a celebration not just of Christmas, but of community—of the people who make our building lively, diverse, and inspiring every day. Moments like these remind us how enriching it is to work alongside one another, across specialties and perspectives.

Here’s to a peaceful holiday season and to many more shared moments in the year to come.
