On 20.01.2026, Dr Felicitas Sommer and Hope Ewudor from the Technical University of Munich were guests at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen.

Our Professor Hannes Taubenböck welcomed them and introduced the works at the department “Georisks and civil Security (GZS)”. Dr Felicitas Sommer presented TUM works in the context of digital and green transformation. Together with Prof. Dr. Christian Geiß and Manuel Huber opportunities for cooperation by combining remote sensing, big geospatial data, land governance, planning and AI were discussed. The interdisciplinary perspective harbours a great deal of potential for researching land governance and the effects and implementation in reality.
