The 45th EARSeL Symposium takes place from 29.09. to 02.10.2026 in Athens, Greece. This year, several EORC and DLR colleagues contribute to the symposium with manifold contributions on different topics, ranging from thermal remote sensing, climate adaptation, as well as assessment of informal settlements.
On the first day of the symposium, Moritz Hertrich presented a study from his PhD in the Special Session “Next-Generation TIR Observations for Urban and Environmental Monitoring”. The title of his talk is “National-Scale Downscaling of Sentinel-3 Land Surface Temperature to Landsat Spatial Resolution”.
In addition, we contributed with two studies to the poster session at the end of the first conference day. Thomas Stark displayed his work from the KI4Stereo project titled “Comparing Segmentation, Object Detection, and Instance Segmentation for Individual Tree Mapping” and Tobias Leichtle showed a study within the context of the EO4CAM project on “Assessment of the Surface Urban Heat Island Effect and Intra-Urban Temperature Patterns in Cities across Germany”.
