A Warm and Festive Evening: The EORC Christmas Party

December 5, 2025

As the year slowly draws to a close, the EORC came together this week to celebrate the season and spend an evening away from our usual desks, and classrooms. Our annual EORC Christmas Party brought together staff members, student assistants, and our current MSc students—an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and cheerful setting.

For this year’s gathering, we had booked a pub exclusively for our group, giving us the space to unwind and have fun at our own pace. After a cosy dinner, the atmosphere quickly shifted into a livelier mood as small groups formed around the darts board and the table soccer setup. Friendly competitions unfolded throughout the evening, and plenty of laughter followed each successful shot—or spectacular miss.

Beyond the games, the evening offered exactly what many of us needed at this busy time of year: time for conversations, light-hearted jokes, and simply catching up with colleagues and students we may not see every day. Some used the chance to exchange ideas about joint social activities in the upcoming weeks and months, others just enjoyed the moment and the company.

The Christmas party once again reminded us how valuable these informal gatherings are for strengthening our team. We left with full stomachs, warm smiles, and a renewed sense of connection as we head into the final stretch of the year.

We wish everyone a peaceful festive season and look forward to all the exciting things the new year will bring.
