EAGLE MSc students Marlene and Anna recently gave our university community an insider’s look into the world of Earth Observation and Geoinformatics by hosting a vibrant Instagram Take-Over. And let’s just say—they soared!

Here’s a glimpse into what they shared:

💡 What Is EAGLE, Anyway?

The take-over kicked off with a down-to-earth explanation of the EAGLE MSc program—from its unique interdisciplinary approach to its strong connection to real-world applications in remote sensing. Marlene and Anna broke it down in a way that was informative yet relatable, perfect for curious students scrolling through stories between classes.

🛰️ Remote Sensing: Our Eyes in the Sky

Ever wondered how satellites and drones help us understand climate change, agriculture, or natural hazards? The duo unpacked what Remote Sensing is, and how EAGLE students are using it to tackle some of the planet’s biggest challenges.

🔬 Behind the Scenes: Research at the Department

Followers got an exclusive peek at the cutting-edge research projects happening at the Department of Remote Sensing. From snow and ice monitoring to forest, agricutlure or biodiversity mapping, the variety of topics showcased the program’s hands-on and research-driven nature..

🌍 Internship Insights

For future EAGLEs wondering where the degree might take them, Anna and Marlene spotlighted the diverse internship opportunities available—whether in academia, industry, or international organizations.

🚁 Fly with Us: Department Tour with Avatar Drone

In one of the week’s most popular segments, they gave a flying tour—literally! Using the Avatar drone, they led a virtual walk-through of the department, labs, and working spaces, showing what life as an EAGLE looks like from above.

👩‍🎓 Who Can Apply? (Spoiler: Maybe You!)

The students also explained how to apply to the EAGLE program and who’s eligible. Their message: “If you’re passionate about the Earth and have a background in geography, environmental sciences, geoinformatics or similar—EAGLE might just be for you!”

🧗‍♀️ Work Hard, Play Hard

Beyond lectures and research, the take-over highlighted the close-knit EAGLE community—from hiking trips to game nights. It’s not just about studying Earth; it’s about enjoying it together.
