Our EAGLE alumni Henrik Fisser recently visited us after a research stay in the United States. He is now pursuing his PhD at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, specifically in the Earth Observation Group. UiT is renowned for its cutting-edge research in polar Earth observation, with a focus on topics such as climate monitoring, ice mapping, and the use of advanced remote sensing technologies. Learn more about UiT’s Earth Observation research here.
Henrik shared insights about his career path since graduating from EAGLE, which included working with prominent organizations like the World Bank before deciding to focus on ice mapping using radar remote sensing for his doctoral studies at UiT. His visit highlighted the strong professional network of EAGLE alumni, which continues to support current students by offering internships and MSc thesis opportunities.
For instance, our student Clara Vydra recently completed her internship with UiT’s Earth Observation Laboratory. This collaboration underscores the valuable connections within the EAGLE community, fostering exciting opportunities in Earth observation and beyond.
