Our Partner WASCAL is launching the new batch of the BMBF funded MSc and PhD program and you have the chance to apply for a scholarship!

You have the choice between ten different PhD and two different MSc Programs in one of the countries of the ECOWAS region. The topics are ranging from Biodiversity to Agriculture, from West African Climate System to Water Resources, from Education to Economics, from Land Use to Human Habitats, from Energy to Marine Science and from Informatics to Green Hydrogen.

We are looking forward to the new students knowing that an established German network is ready to support them as well. This includes different universities all over Germany, from Hamburg to Freiburg form Bonn to Potsdam as well as several research institutions like PIK, GEOMAR, DLR and many more.

The Department of Remote Sensing of the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg takes also part in these programs and is happy to contribute to the capacity development of young West African scientist through lectures and supervision.

The application for the scholarships is open to West African students only and students with own fundings are welcome from all countries. The deadline for application will end on the 30th of June 2021 – apply now!
