We are happy to welcome another Earth Observation graduate! Ka Hei successfully defended her M.Sc. thesisCNN-based Global Aboveground Biomass Estimation using Sentinel-2 and GEDI” and showed the potential of remote sensing to derive global tree height data and apply deep learning algorithm to retrieve relevant information for a variety of applications. She also critically evaluated her complex approach and showed the (spatial) error of the data. It is also fascinating what our EAGLE M.Sc. students achieve after these few years in our study program and we are very proud to see their achievements and being honored to be able to be part of their scientific path.

The thesis was done in cooperation with Rashkovetsky at  ORORA Tech as supervisor and by our EORC member Dr. Martin Wegmann.
