EO4CAM workshop – research meets practice

EO4CAM workshop – research meets practice

October 23, 2024

More than 40 participants from Bavarian ministries, state authorities, and municipalities were guests at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) at the DLR on October 15 and 16. As part of the “Workshop for Public Authorities – Earth Observation for Climate Adaptation”, they discussed specific applications of remote sensing for climate change adaptation measures.

The event was organized by scientists from the German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) and the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) at the University of Würzburg. In the EO4CAM (Earth Observation Laboratory for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation) project, they are developing earth observation-based information products, analyses, and scenarios for the definition and monitoring of climate adaptation measures for urban areas, agriculture, forestry, and the cross-cutting issues of biodiversity, geohazards and health.

In the future, the project results will be made available to all interested parties via a specially developed data portal. Regular workshops with future users will ensure that the products are tailored to practical requirements.

The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy funds the project.
