NetCDA2 Partners from 12 academic institutions across Germany joining forces

On Nov 3-4, 2026, the network of 12 German academic partners met at the EORC (Earth Observation Research Cluster) at Würzburg Universitiy. „With two new German research institutions on board, the TH Köln and the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg , we can offer an even greater benefit to African PhD students over the next three years”, says Dr. Michael Thiel, project lead of the German network.

In the recently launched phase two of the BMFTR-funded network, the partners supervise and train a total of 84 African PhD students of the WASCAL graduate program, who will stay for 6 months at a German partner research institution.
