Last week the faculty held its formal graduation ceremony, and EORC and EAGLE were well represented on stage. Two of our PhD students, Dr. Ariane Droin and Dr. Johannes Mast, both joint the ceremony for their doctoral degrees, and it was great to see them walk across that stage after years of hard work. Anyone who has followed their research on remote-sensing.org knows how much they’ve put into it, so this felt like a well-earned moment.
Alongside them, two EAGLE graduates, Daria Ushakova and Sonja Maas, celebrated their Master’s degrees too. Watching our EAGLE students go from their first semester to standing there with a finished thesis in hand never gets old.
And there was an extra highlight this year: EAGLE students were recognized among the best MSc theses of the cohort of the whole faculty. That’s not a small thing, considering how many strong theses come out of the faculty every year, so congratulations to everyone involved.
Ceremonies like this are a nice reminder of why we do what we do at EORC. Congratulations to Ariane, Johannes, Daria, and Sonja, we’re proud of you all and excited to see where you take things from here.
